Classroom Expectations

Class Expectations:

In First Grade there is so much to be learned. The expectations are high so daily attendance is imperative. Students need to do their best, listen, and always ask questions when needed. Parents, teacher, and students must work together to be partners in the education process.

Class Rules:

1. Listen when others are talking.

2. Follow directions.

3. Keep hands, feet, objects, and unkind words to yourself.

4. Work quietly and do not disturb others.

5. Show respect for school and personal property.

6. Work and play in a safe manner.

We have a Clip System in our class this year.  Students that can earn 10 punches on their punch cards.  The punch cards will earn rewards, such as eating with the teacher, being a junior teacher, show and tell, etc.  Everyone starts the day on green.  Pink in our class is the BEST. Red is the lowest and results in a trip to the office and consequences. The goal is to try and clip up each day.  This system has been working great!
I also utilize Class Dojo and almost all parents have connected with it via the app.  On this I give points for behavior.  In addition, I put many pictures of the class during our various activities.  This site is only for parents in this class but it is a fun way for parents to glimpse what we are doing and an excellent way to communicate with parents!
