Classroom Habits

AWESOME attendance is very important. There is a direct correlation between the number of days a student is absent and grades. Please send your child to school each day and on time. If your child is absent, please notify the office as soon as possible or send a note with your child.  The office phone number is (623) 707-2000.

We are a Family

I strongly believe that children succeed by developing good habits. Therefore, as a class we follow the 5 Habits.  The habits focus on becoming a leader of self and others.

*Habit 1: Be Proactive-- You're in charge of yourself

*Habit 2: Listen to Others-- listen first, then share your thoughts and questions
*Habit 3: Honesty-- tell the truth always
*Habit 4: Kindness-- Everybody can succeed, care for your peers
*Habit 5: Try Your Best Always--There are many things we can't do, YET! Practice makes BETTER. Set goals!

Flexible Seating:

Think about where you work best. Where are you most comfortable when you sit down to read a good book? Are you in an assigned seat? I truly believe students work best when they feel safe and loved. I always emphasize how our classroom is a group of family members. We support each other, we cheer each other on, and we help each other succeed.

 In our classroom, s
tudents have the choice to sit where they want every morning when they enter our classroom. They choose somewhere that helps them learn best. Students do know that I am able to move them if they do not display their best learning. This allows students to take control of their learning and want to learn. Make sure to check out our page, "Come Take A Look" to see pictures of students taking advantage of flexible seating options. As always, feel free to email me if you have any questions or comments. :)
