No School

There is no school on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Enjoy your long weekend!

Peter Piper Pizza Family Night

Our second Peter Piper night is on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Bring the family for a night of yummy pizza and fun and support our school at the same time.

Science/Engineering Fair

Our science/engineering fair is on Wednesday, February 5. Kindergarten through 2nd grade classes will complete class projects and learn the scientific method. We invite all parents to come see how hard the students and teachers work on these projects and how much the students have learned. 3rd through 5th grade students will be bringing these projects home with due dates. Students have a rubric to follow and a chance to move on to the district science fair and westside finals. The fair on February 5 will be the judging day and the celebration of the completion of all projects. We will announce winners that evening. Please mark your calendar to attend. PSO will be selling snacks that evening as well. It is a fun family night to come see all the projects in the school.

Welcome to Our New Website!

We are pleased to welcome you to our new and improved, responsive (mobile friendly) website. We are grateful to the many district and school staff members who worked together to envision a website that reflects how much we care about our students. Our partnership with School Webmasters has made our vision a reality. Working with School Webmasters also helps us keep our websites ADA compliant for those with disabilities. We hope you’ll check back in with us often!

Study Tips for Your School Child

Do you find it hard to get your son or daughter to study? Would his or her grades improve if they had better study skills and resources? If you answered yes to either question, we have some helpful tips for you.  offers tips to help your child prepare for a successful study session. Simple tips such as how to organize a study space, plan time to study, and having the proper study materials can go a long way toward helping your child be successful. For more detailed information about how to help your child develop and practice good study habits, please visit

If you prefer a hands-on approach to help your child, then you may want to refresh your memory on the topics your son or daughter is learning. A good place to start is Internet Public Library, which has a wealth of information and research materials you and your teen need to advance learning, such as arts and crafts, nutrition information, and sports.

For the younger child, studying in the traditional way might not be working. Take a look at Fun Brain for an interactive approach to studying. Don't let the fact that it is full of games discourage you from letting your child go there. Educational games engage your child while reinforcing basic skills in math, reading, science, and more. Even by playing games kids learn—and any kind of learning is good!

Early Dismissal

We have early dismissal every Thursday at 1:15 p.m. to support our Teacher In-Services. Be sure to visit our Calendar page for all our upcoming events.
